Do You Have
Mermaid or Pirate Booty
You'd Like to Sell to Us?
We're always looking for new products to carry. If you have a product that you'd like us to sell, please contact us.
We are primarily a wholesaler that specializes in supplying pirate-related items to maritime museums, nautical book stores, specialty giftshops and other businesses throughout the U.S. and Caribbean. We have wholesale customers as far away as Australia.
Since we're primarily a wholesaler, most of what we sell goes to retailers at large discount. If we can't give our customers a good discount, we won't sell very many and it wouldn't be worth it for us to stock it. Also, the item has to be of high quality and/or at an excellent price. We have about 2,000 products we are trying to get into stock, so there's a lot of competition. The easier you make things for us, the more likely it is we will move your product ahead of the others.
There are several ways you can make things easier for us:
Give us all the information we need right from the beginning. If we have to keep contacting you for information, your product will be placed on a back burner and it may be years before we're able to contact you again.
Present just a few of your bestselling items. If there are numerous options, let us know what they are, but realize we rarely have time to sort through many options to figure out what will sell the best.
Offer us free freight. As a wholesaler, our profit margin is very slim, so our cost is very important. Small changes in price or the cost of freight can easily put a product in the red, as can small errors on invoices. Because the cost of freight constantly fluctuates, we have to spend a lot of time re-calculating it on most of the orders we receive. It's important for us to keep our costs steady. If you can offer to cover shipping costs, it can really make things a lot easier for us.
Please be patient. Once we actually begin purchasing a product, we still have to enter it into so many systems and reports, as well as into our advertising. As a result, the entire process is slow and can take anywhere from a few weeks to over a year.
With few exceptions, we are only interested in items that we can keep ordering over a long period of time without changes in product design or costs.
We keep all of the items we carry in stock. We do not sell products that we do not have in our warehouse and we do not drop ship through any of our vendors. Generally we do what is called "just-in-time ordering", which means we prefer to place lots of smaller orders, rather than a few large ones. Also, the quantities we order are dependant on sales, so they are difficult to predict.
Before we can consider purchasing your product, we need the following information:
Your company's name (if any), address, phone number and email address.
What is your website address, if you have one?
We need to see what your product looks like. Please send either a sample or photos.
Is there an order minimum?
We need to know how much it will cost us. Please send us your discount schedule.
How much will we have to order to get free freight?
What is the suggested retail price, if any?
Do you accept payment by MasterCard or American Express? If not, will you bill us or will we have to send a check in advance?
This information can be mailed to us at the address at the top of this page, or it can be faxed to us, or you can
fill out a submission form.
Please note that all purchasing for Dead Men Tell No Tales.com and One Stop Mermaid Shop.com is done through the purchasing department of Fern Canyon Press.
